Watch Indian Muharram proceedings live on your cell phoneLucknow (Ahlul Bayt News Agency) -  With cell phones becoming a necessity, there is no dearth of making innovations in the service. The latest being broadcasting of Muharram proceedings live on your cell phone. The service launched for the first time in the city will be soon followed by Gurubani in coming days.

It all started with few hoardings erected in old city proclaiming 'get ready for a revolution' this Muharram. Many did not understand that it is a mobile revolution. The district administration also was apprehensive as the old city at that time was simmering due to arrest of Shia cleric Maulana Kalbe Jawwad following Shia College row. The hoardings were pulled down by the administration.

On Saturday, another set of hoardings was installed which clearly mentioned that Lucknowites can enjoy the proceedings of Muharram on their phone using a special recharge voucher worth Rs 200. "We will place the vouchers in the market from Monday and we have received overwhelming response. Already queries from several cities including Lucknow are pouring in," said Chaitanya Singh. A resident of Kahsmiri Mohalla, Singh is looking after the operations of Gurgaon based Anagha Communications which has launched the service. "We received good response from the clerics in Lucknow, they all welcomed the idea and appreciated the service," said Singh.

Regarding the service, the company will provide live telecast of majlis, matam, marsiyakhwani and other Muharram processions through WAP on your multimedia handset. The coverage will be from various cities including Lucknow, Hyderbad and Mumbai. The services can also be availed on the internet. "We are also providing international recharge vouchers for the NRIs to avail the service," said Singh.

Soon the service will be extended to other religions and next in line is relay of Gurubani from Amritsar on your mobile phones. Similar such programmes for other religions are also expected in coming days.

Lailatul Jaiza

The Night Preceding 'Eid-ul-Fitr' It had been the practice of the Prophet Muhammad, Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam, that he would pray during the night preceding the day of Eid-ul-fitr. This night has been named in a Hadith as the Night of Reward (Lailatul Jaiza). Almighty bestows his rewards on those who have spent the month of Ramadan abiding by the dictates of Shari'ah, and all their prayers in this night are accepted. Therefore, it is desirable to perform nafl prayers during this night. The Prophet, Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam, is reported to have said: Whoever stands up (in worship) in the nights preceding the two Eids expecting rewards from his Lord, his heart will not die when the other hearts will die. (Hadith-Ibn Majah) (His heart will not die during the time of evil and corruption. It could also mean that with the blowing of the trumpet his soul will not become unconscious.)
