Health and Wellness in Islam

Health and Wellness in Islam By: Sayyid Muhammad Rizvi   Islam is a Deen . It is a way of life which encompasses all aspects of human life: spiritual as well as physical, personal as well as communal, physical health as well as material wealth, and religious matters as well as political issues. In Islam, our body and health are considered as important gifts of Almighty Allah. Imam Ali (peace be upon him) said: "Health is the best of blessings." In another narration, he says, "One of the blessings [of God] is the abundance of wealth; however, better than abundance of wealth is the health of the body." Imam Ja'far as-Sadiq (peace be upon him) said, "A believer who is physically strong is better than a weak believer." It is in this sense that our body is considered to be the trust given to us by Allah. And we have to safeguard and protect this trust. Exercise and Being Active Being active and to exercise is not only acceptable in Islam but a...

Insulting the Sunni Figures

Q: What is the view of Your Eminence regarding what is found in media (satellite TV canals and internet) that is explicit insult and disgrace towards the wives of the Holy Prophet of Islam (S.W.A) using offensive language against her and charging her with things that throw her chastity and honor as a wife of the Nobel Prophet Muhammad (S.W.A) into question? It goes without saying that these behaviors have created great troubles within the Islamic Ummah and put the Muslims, especially the followers of Ahl al-Bayt (a.), in a state of stress. A: It is haram to disgrace the figures of our Sunni brothers, let alone charging the wife of the Prophet (peace be upon him and his household) with things that throw her chastity into question, rather, it is impossible for the wives of the prophets, especially those of the Master of the prophets, the great Messenger of Allah (S.W.A). The Supreme Leader of Islamic Republic of Iran Imam Khamenei, who is equally respected by Sunnis as a distinguished ...

Beware of Akhbari propaganda

My request to my shia brothers and sisters is that beware of this Akhbari propaganda, because most of the stuff that they or Nusehri write is used by antishia groups as prooves against Shiaism. Akbary are against Taqleed, so they try to teach certain things so that our shia community starts doing propaganda against Mujtahids and this is actually what is happening. So beware of these small sects and their agents working with the names of Shia Zakireen. Please see what imaam says: Imam Zamana (ATFS) says:   Hazrat  Ali (A.S) says in nahjul balaga:
